Today’s One Shot is a snap from Ashley and Jacob’s Sedona engagement session. I picked this image because of this stunning location. Plain and simple. Sometimes you just have to get out of the way of your own head and let the setting do the talking. This shot is all about the couple having some fun and getting romantic in front of an epic backdrop.
For their session, we wandered the West Fork Trail (a must for a Sedona visit) and we knew we wanted them to get in the water somewhere. Once we saw these stunning curved walls it was a no brainer to do it here. I thought it would be fun if he picked her up in the creek and gave her a little kiss. I framed them against the greenery so their skin tones would pop out more than they would against the rock. Then it adds some balance to the image with the walls to the left.
Shot with my Canon 5D Mk III and a Canon 50mm 1.2L lens at ISO 1250, f2.5, and 1/320th sec. Edited in Lightroom.
