I will always remember Noelle and Chris’ wedding. When I first met with them, Noelle talked about her frustrations regarding representation for curvy brides and bodies of all kinds at weddings. As a bigger person myself, I feel like I really got that. I’ve always wanted everyone represented in my work. It can often feel like this industry isn’t for everyone. Between wedding websites, blogs, magazines, etc., it often feels like everything is geared towards thin people. And if we’re being really honest, it’s often geared towards thin people who are also white. Even though society as a whole is moving towards body positivity and diversity, I think the wedding industry has been slower to come around. It was really exciting to me to have a bride actually want to talk about this during the consult. We talked about her ideas regarding that and some of my ideas to represent it. I am thrilled with the results and I hope she is too.
As an added bonus, she and Chris partly chose the venue because of their love of our state. From one ardent Arizona cheerleader to another, I’m all about Arizona-centric weddings.
Here are some of the best shots from their Tempe wedding at the Arizona Heritage Center.
